The 9th International Central and East European Media Conference took place on June 16-18, 2016 in Tartu. The conference focused on interdisciplinary research and was held in the theme of “Media and Communication studies: bridging disciplines, bridging countries”. The conference featured 4 plenary sessions and 17 parallel sessions which were attended by about 60 scholars from different East and Central European countries, and more than 20 Polish scholars were one of the  most visible participants. The researchers presented the results of their analyzes dedicated to such issues as political economy and regulations, social media, conflicts – business, science communication and mediatization, history studies, and so on.

The conference keynote speeches were delivered by Epp Lauk (University of Jyväskylä), Peter Torop (University of Tartu), Rauno Thomas Moss (University of Tartu),  Bogusława Dobek-Ostrowska (University of Wrocław), Mare Ainsaar (University of Tartu), Tarmo Soomere (President of the Estonian Academy of Sciences).
